    XBOX 360 Update Help


    After having downloaded the most recent update to my laptop, can I download it directly to my xbox without a usb flash drive or cd? Am i able to update my xbox by directly connecting it to my laptop?

    Background: Xbox 360 was out of use for so long it now will not update itself automatically once connected to the internet. Forced to manually update. No flash drive or blank disks available, but have already downloaded update to laptop.

    XBOX 360 Update Help

    Hi

    To update the console with the file you have already downloaded you will need to use a CD or USB flash drive to complete the update this way. New versions of the console software also comes installed on game discs and if the disc has a newer OS version then
    you will be prompted to update the console when starting the game.

    It may be possible to connect your console via your laptop via an ethernet cable and update it this way. To do this carry out a web search for "Internet connection sharing" and you may be able to update this way.
