Xbox 360 update failing. Update not available Dec 2014

So I haven't been on my 360 in around 2 months and I wanted to get on Live. I powered it up and I got an error code when I tried to download the new update. So I did the USB download transfer (I updated it to 17148) and now it says that it needs a new update
but it's not available. When I try to connect to my internet it works fine and the connection it good (wireless) but once it tries to hook up to Live it shows the same message that the update isn't available. I've tried different software updates too. Right
now my Xbox says to be running Dashboard: 2.0.17148.0 Please help as I want to play Destiny and this is very frustrating...

LowerEastSide24, the last public update was on Dec 11 2014. Either your hard drive (or internal 4gb storage) is failing and causing the xbox unable to read that it has the update or you are in the preview program which had an update on March 31st.

If you are part of the preview program, you should be posting in the preview program forums. The preview program is about beta testing and problems can arise. It's part of the risk in partaking in a beta.

If you are not part of the preview program then you have an obvious hard ware failure somewhere.

Hello, there is currently an Xbox LIVE Service alert affecting the Xbox 360, there is not projected fix date as of yet that I know about. This service alert affects downloadable content, which could also affect your update download. I am not 100% sure that
is the problem, however it could be. I am also having trouble downloading things every once and a while.

i just got online an Xbox 360 when i connected to internet i was like wow really i haven't seen an update in a while though.

 

same problem we wait till MS release SystemUpdate_17150_USB

You should be able to download the latest system update file, version. 2.0.17150.0 from:

support.xbox.com/.../system-updates-info

Post back and let us know if you are able to update your console manually

 

the usb update is not working it is giving error on extrction

i updated my xbox directly, and it restarted once...but now it say cant download the update!!

 

o_o oh dear i hope this issue gets fixed soon. I just dl the 17150 zip file just in case. Direct dl via my modem wasn't working at all. Hope for some good news soon
