    Xbox 360 update failed


    OK, guys i need some help. Firstly my error code is 3CD6-40A3-B600-C000-014F

    i got this xbox from a friend to fix for him and i thought i could but the xbox wont read my storage device to update it. it failed a long time ago and he doesnt remember which update it was. Its the old xbox pro and aby help would be MUCH appreciated.

    Have you tried putting the latest update onto a disc?

    no i did not. but thats gooing to be a mission. i have both a CD-R and DVD+R. which one?

    Have your friend repair the system....

    Have your friend contact support... You are not authorised to do repairs anyway.......

    Its not really a Hardware issue and its not something that Microsoft needs to see just yet.

    As for an update i still couldn't get it to work.. i did some research and i found that it needs to be a very specific update but based on that error code i think its bricked.

    Mandatory xbox 360 update made my console useless

    It could be that the hard drive is failing. The Xbox is unable to read the drive, thinks that it needs an update but the update will fail because the drive itself is failing. Your 360 might be dead basically.

    Xbox 360 updatedownload, constant fails

    Often in the older 360 consoles with the built in memory unit, this issue will occur.

    When the memory unit fails, the Xbox sees that there's an update available since it can't see the update that was on the storage device. When the Xbox tries to download/install the update, the update can't install because of the failed storage device.

    Does your Xbox 360 have the memory unit and/or the hard drive?
