    XBox 360 update endless loop


    My XBox 360 says it needs to download an update. It starts and then stops just before the bar reaches the end and says it can't complete the download and to test my connection to XBox Live. When I try to test the connection it says I need to download
    and update and the process repeats endlessly from there. I went to XBox Support and searched under the error code 4476-0000-0080-0300-8007-0570 but it does not exist in their list of error codes. It is perplexing that the machine would send me an error code
    that doesn't exist. At any rate, does anyone know how to fix this? I have reset factory defaults on my network. Rebooted my network. Unplugged and restarted the XBox.

    Hi There,

    If the internet is giving you problems on updating the Xbox, then you can use this method to manually get your update going.

    Copy to a USB flash drive

    If you can't connect your Xbox 360 console to the Internet, you can copy the console update from your computer to a USB flash drive and then install it on the console.

    NoteThe USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system. For information about how to format a USB flash drive, see the “Format a USB flash drive” section of Using
    USB flash drives with Xbox 360    .

    1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
    2. Download the update file.
    3. Click Saveto save the console update .zip file on your computer.
    4. Unzip the file. If you're using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
    5. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive (for example, E:\). Do not copy the contents to another folder on the USB flash drive (for example, E:\Files).
    6. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
    7. Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
    8. Restart the console.
    9. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. When prompted, select Yesto update the new console software.

    If you are in the preview programme I suggest turning that off.

    When I had basic internet I would get updates all the time and it was annoying but after upgrading to high speed I haven't experienced one in person. I set to background updates and haven't seen one for about 6 months now.
