XBox 360: Unable to update by any method, download profiles, or play games; plus corrupt ...

A couple of days ago an update failed with status code 4467 0000 3080 0502 8007 0570, which I have not been able to find on the error code list. Then, games started freezing during loading. Obviously, I am unable to download profiles/etc because of the outdated
version. Finally, I noticed that occasionally in the UI, characters will show with a square instead of a letter -- in normal captions for the UI, not names/emojis/whatever. See attached photos.

Here's what I have done:

- Factory reset.

- Try to update via USB -- this just goes in an endless loop of update failures and re-tries.

- REPLACED INTERNAL HARD DRIVE -- twice, with drives that work just fine on another Xbox 360 in the house.

Basically I have exhausted every troubleshooting option I could find and still have the problem. My guess is that the unit is simply hosed. Bad memory maybe? It's an Xbox 360 S. See attached images. The second image shows that "Update Required" has a square
after it, which is obviously not usually there, which leads me to believe there is some low level corruption in the unit.

Any ideas?

This issue is usually caused by corrupt data or impending update files in your system. You should delete your profile, clear your system cache and download your profile again. Through these actions you will get rid of the corrupt data while allowing to any
impending update to apply completely.

 

Gh3 - Downloaded content?

No,any downloadable content is able to be accessed by any profile on that xbox 360.
exactly the same principal as downloading an arcade game on your profile,and your wife/partner/anybody else being able to play on theirs.

 

"xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-8007-0570" might be associated with a corrupt system cache. That's at least the closest I can find with your error code.

Thank you very much for trying to help, I really appreciate it. I didn't say so in my original post, but I tried that several times as well, before and after doing a factory reset. :-(

 

Do you have a hard drive attached to your Xbox 360? Try updating without the hard drive connected.

If you don't have internal flash storage available, connect a USB drive (2GB+?) and format it. The update will need some free storage space to install.

 

I have used two brand new drives (after formatting) with the same results. Also, I did try updating without any drive installed at all. Since it's an S, not an E, there's no internal storage. I tried using just a USB stick (formatted with the Xbox) and it
will not allow an update without "Xbox storage" or something. Anyway, the drives are empty, so that's not it. No external drives, either.

Thanks again for trying. I am resigned to the fact that this box is dead. :-(
