Xbox 360 turns on by itself

ThingOnAString, I think you may be right. I completely forgot about the guitar. I've taken the batteries out. Now we wait and see if it turns on again. Thanks.

Sgt Sledge, I had done that a few times, but I did just clean the fan as well so that might secretly help. Thanks for the advise though.

At this point the Box is behaving. I'll keep this thread posted if it plays up again.

I'm just going to churn out my check your Guitar Hero controller isn't having the guide button constantly pressed in, remove the batteries from the guitar if need be to see if the issue persists answer.

I have had the same problem but also i have had it open the disc tray when it is off and also the disc tray will open by it self while playing a game or not oping when asked to

Hey MURDERINMADMAN! There is a chance it could be one of the above issues, most specifically what ComputerSteve has mentioned. Do you have any electronic devices surrounding your console that could be running interference? This includes but is not limited
to wireless phones, microwaves, etc. If you do, try moving those to see if the console still powers on randomly. This could also be due to dust or oils accumulating on the power button, try wiping off the power and eject buttons with a dry microfiber cloth
to remove any oils or dirt. Let us know if this helps or if you still experience the issue!

I had that problem like you also. Oddly enough what happened to me, it happened to be my power outlet/power strip causing it to do that. It could be just your Xbox 360 itself though. Try switching around outlets and see what happens.
