    Xbox 360 - Turns ON and then turns OFF in 2-4 seconds when using Dish remote


    Context:

    - My Xbox 360 is working fine, it turns ON/OFF fine with the Xbox media remote and Xbox controllers

    - The Dish remote seems to be paired fine. As once I turn on the Xbox, it can control all the aspects of the Xbox without any issues (navigating around, playing Netflix videos, etc.)

    - Xbox is up-to-date

    - Dish remote mode: 40.0 UHF 2G

    Problem:

    - The only problem I have is that I cannot turn on my Xbox 360 using the Dish universal remote.

    Any ideas?

    XBOX One and the Dish Hopper

    I have set up the xbox one and during the setup, the testing on "Turning On" & "Turning Off" the dish hopper works perfectly. I adjusted the settings so that when the XBOX One is turned on or off it will do the same for my TV and Dish Hopper.

    When everything is off, turning on the XBOX One turns everything on perfectly, HOWEVER; when turning off the XBOX One, only the XBOX One and the TV is shutting down. My Hopper stays on and I have to use my remote to turnoff.

    I notice that the order the 'Off" commands are Dish Hopper 1st, and then the TV.

    I see the Hopper blink off, and then a 1/2 second latter come back on & then the TV off.

    Does the hopper recognize a live feed and automaticly turn on, thus the quick off and then back on?

    Any Thoughts?

    Can I reorder the 'Off' commands so that it turns the TV off 1st and then the Dish Hopper?

    XBox One will not turn on

    Try to turn xbox one on using remote, the xbox light on remote flashes. The console does nothing. If I turn xbox console on without using remote, the xbox light on console will flash one time and then it is off. We have tried every way unplugging, waiting
    10 seconds, unplug from wall, unplug from xbox etc and nothing has helped.

    I have the dish hopper so I am not sure if it is the same but I had to go into my Dish settings and turn on IR as the dish remote uses another type of interface. Turning it on allows xbox to control you dish box.

    Newbie question: Switching back to television mode

    When you switch it over, are you leaving the Dish receiver turned on? Your Dish receiver may be sensing that the TV is off, since it's not receiving a signal from the TV. It is probably timing out. Try turning off the Dish receiver when you turn the Xbox
    on, then turn it back on when you watch TV.

    Newbie question: Switching back to television mode

    Ok so I was doing some research and it appears to be a common Westinghouse issue:

    First off, your dish satellite reciever should be able to turn on/off. Went to the dish site and here's the info from there:

    Turning Your Receiver On and Off

    1. Start with your TV on and DISH receiver off .

    2. To turn your receiver ON, press and release the red POWER button on your DISH remote.

    3. To turn your receiver OFF, press and release the red POWER button on your DISH remote again.

    Apparently there is a known HDMI communications/handshake issue

    Next as a solution for your TV try this:

    The quick fix to "reset" the TV by doing the following:

    1. Turn it off using the side power button.

    2. Press and HOLD the side power button for at least 10 seconds, then release.

    (If you've done it correctly the TV should turn on and display the white "W" Westinghouse logo, indicating that it is performing a full system reset.)

    Now that was a quick fix, and might have to be done everytime. I am not certain as I do not own a westinghouse, please check

    here     for your model as there might be a firmware update. (If there is you will see a download arrow/link
    under the tv model)

    westinghousedigital.com/.../downloads (You'll probably need a usb memory stick to upgrade.)

    Hope this information helps, and I know this is alot. :) hang in there, we'll get it fixed. Once again keep us updated!

    I factory reseted my xbox one s as my controller kept turning off (I tried everything else I could think of) and It won't connect to the internet

    I don't have a second controller, it works when I plug it in, I don't really know the difference between disconnecting and turning off. I thoight it was turning off as I had to press the xbox button so it will turn on. Also I thought to mention this, It
