Xbox 360 turns off when trying to install the latest update.

I don't know if this is the worst luck in the world, or some defect with the update itself! But when I try to install the latest update, the console automatically turns off. At first I thought, hmmm... maybe its a problem with the brick. But nope, its solid
green. Then I try cleaning the button that turns the 360 on, but nothing happens. I try unplugging all the cable's out of the wall, it doesn't work. Everything in the book I could do, it doesn't work! Then, I realized something, it was only doing this when
it was installing the update! I leave the console on for 3 hours straight, everything is fine! I try some Fallout 3, everything works great! I have no idea what is going on, and so far I've heard nothing of it. I really need help, as I can't connect to XBL
till the console is updated.

gta 5 memory stick problem

Ok, I have an Xbox 360 and using a 16gig memory stick. The game installs fine, I can play the game as normal. I can also save to the memory stick and it loads up fine. However, when I turn my Xbox off and turn it back on again a few hours later, and load
up gta5, it then tells me to enter the install disc, I look at my memory stick it says I have to config my memory stick again which then in turn wipes everything off my memory stick. Any ideas?

what i did was to un-install the game turn off xbox, re insert disc, re-install but this time when it tells you there is an update available for the game hit No and dont install the update until after the disc is fully installed.

 

Well I'd just like to reply to let everyone know its working now! I have no idea what was wrong, but the 360 wants to work on me again!

 

Hi, that is a strange thing indeed.

If you go to settings/ system/ storage are any devices showing as unformatted or if you access your storage device do all the files show a size of 0Kb ?

If so there is a storage issue, if you're using a surge protector or power extension lead it's also worth connecting the xbox power supply directly to the mains power outlet to see if that helps any.

Something else to try is going into settings/ system/ storage, highlight your storage device, press LB RB X LB RB X and select yes to remove the system update, the xbox will restart and then try updating again.
