Xbox 360 Troubles with Xbox Live Account - Can't Change Accounts

I'm having troubles with the Xbox Live Account. My roommate moved out and I wanted to create a new Xbox Live Account to replace his. The trouble is I can't find my way through the settings to really change the Accounts on the Xbox. Could somebody ls help
me?

How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

Overview

It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on your console.

1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

In case you want to change the billing name on your Xbox LIVE account, go to Xbox.com

Both accounts are Windows Live Id's you can't merge the 2 accounts but what you can do is change the Windows Live ID by following the steps below if you are not happy with the Live Id your Xbox Live account is on now.

The account, including their Windows Live ID and password are their responsibility, and if they call Xbox Support, unless they can answer a handful of verification questions asked by Support (doubtful if they forgot their WLID and password), the account
can't be recovered. The only way you can change the WLID tied to the account is by changing it on the Xbox 360, but of course you have to be signed into it.

You can't "delete" accounts - you can only simply change the e-mail address. Once the account is created it can never be deleted. If you need to change the e-mail address on one of your XBOX LIVE accounts you have to recover the account in question your
XBOX 360 and then follow the instructions written on the website:
support.xbox.com/.../manage-live-id.aspx - You want to click where it says "Switch your gamertag to a different Windows Live ID". I figured that the correct e-mail was not being used, and that is why I asked you to check what the Windows Live ID was on
the actual XBOX 360 account you were using.

Once you register an xbox live account as a child account you can't change it. The parental account can change privacy settings of the child account though.
