xbox 360 thinks that a disc is downloaded content and not a game

I cannot speak for Xbox One users or users with a digital download on Xbox 360, I have a retail disc copy. The fix is simple. Delete the Destiny content on your storage device as Bungie suggests but, install the disc instead of running the game and downloading
the 5GB+ of content from the network.

Most 360 games on disc allow you to install the game to the hard drive by pressing X and selecting Install which you should do with Destiny. If you do not do this, the game will install the disc content for you but from the Internet and not from disc. This
5GB+ of unneeded download is what is failing the verification. The disc install takes up 7GB.

I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your game. Is it a disc or is it downloadable content? If its downloadable content, I would suggest deleting it and re downloading the entire game agiain. It will not cost you anything to re-download, beacuse
you have already paid for the content. Sometimes by doing this, it can get the glitched or faulty issues out of the problem. If its not the game or the disc, there could be a problem with your console itself. Also, are you playing on the original xbox or the
xbox 360? You can not play some original xbox games on the xbox 360. I really hope this helps you and you can get to playing your game!

If you installed the game from a disc you always need the disc to play the game. This couldn´t change. If you want to play games without a disc you have to buy them as digital version.

I believe this is because The Crew is not available to buy digitally on Xbox 360. It is only available as a disc-based game - you would need to buy the game from a retail store. The downloaded content can be used with the disc copy of the game.

Unlike the Xbox One, not every single Xbox 360 game is available digitally so sometimes you will run into this.

Hey there, the only thing I can think of is did you originally download the game on another console? You might need to do a license transfer and then download the game for it to work, though if you purchased it on that console, not sure what's up:
