Xbox 360 strange video flickering ONLY when playing a game. Need Help

After doing the latest Xbox 360 update ALL of my 360 games have this strange flickering problem only when I play a game from the disc. I can watch videos just fine. Hooked up the 360 to another TV and the same problem. I have put in over 6 games and they
all have the same problem. Also, changed out HDMI cables, reboot the 360 many times and tried just about every setting on the TV. Again had no problems for years until this last update. Here is a link so you can see the problem.

As for my video switcher, i realized that the component cable that comes with the 360 actually needs the other inputs (green, and red jacks) to display full color as tested when i plugged it directly to my tv. Using a video selector switch only gives me
one video input (yellow) ...so my theory is that is why i can only see it in black and white which is odd because initially i was getting full color when only plugging in the blue video jack...strange.

 

its more than likely the disk not console or the dvd rom in the condole is not reading the disk correctly.

 

Hi Indy Crew, could you try going to settings/system/console settings/display and disable display discovery. Do you then still get this flickering effect ?

 

EggsBoxJuan -- I disabled the display recovery and still have the same issue. Any other ideas?

Evo Fire -- You may be on to something. If I play a game directly off the hard drive there is no flickering. I assume the cost to have Microsoft replace the dvd rom is the same price as purchasing a new console.

Sounds like I may have to break down and pick up another 360 unless somebody has another idea.
