    Xbox 360 Storage issues


    I am currently trying to update an old Xbox 360 Slim that I had in storage for a couple years. I no longer have the internal hard drive that originally came with the system so I have to rely on a SanDisk 32gb USB stick. I formatted it on the system and it seemed to work up until I tried to update the system. It claims I do not have enough storage space to install the update. However, the console states in the storage options that I have 28gb free. Any help with this issue is appreciated.

    Hi Jaden,

    This is one of the known issues on the Series X|S consoles

    Known issue: Some users are experiencing issues launching Xbox 360 games, which instead return the user back to the Home screen on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

    Workaround: Clear your Xbox 360 storage by going to Settings > System > Storage > Clear local Xbox 360 storage.

    If you don't want to save anything on the Xbox, may I suggest formatted your "Xbox 360 storage" . Other than any hardware related issues, this is the closest you can
    it to out-of-the-box brand-new.

    Xbox 360 Storage issues (solved)

    After tweaking with the settings I found out that because I was missing the internal drive that I actually needed to assign a new "system drive." Doing so has solved my issue and now I am able to install the update. Thank you for your assistance and I hope you have a good night.
