1. Xbox 360 stopped recognizing USB flash drives

I have a 4GB Xbox 360. I have been using a 32GB Lexar USB flash drive, which was properly configured. Recently the console stopped recognizing the flash drive. There aren't any error messages, the drive just doesn't show up at all. I tried formatting
a new 32GB SanDisk flash drive to see if the console would recognize it, but the console still did not recognize the flash drive at all. Also, the console hangs on the logo screen when powered on until the flash drive is removed. Once the flash drive is
removed, the console starts up normally.

    :)

Please tell me this is a sick joke

You need a 16 gb USB flash drive. It MUST have sufficient read speed 15mb/s

"This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. "

Help, my console does not detect my usb flash drive anymore.

My console stopped recognizing the flash drive from one day to the other. The usb ports are all working and the console still detects other usb flash drives still not formatted. I tried putting it on the pc and it does detect the xbox formatted flash
drive. The usb is a 16Gb kingston data traveler 2.0. I already tried putting it after I started the console, what do I do? My console is the original model (fat) arcade version with 256mb internal storage device. The usb flash drive was formatted on the console.

Sorry to hear it. Can you try formatting the flash drive on the pc before using it on the console? If that doesn't work then it may be the flash drive(s) that you are using or, as you state, the console is not recognizing them at all.

Game Drive - you need to attach an xbox 360 hard drive

Do you have any other usb storage devices plugged into your console? Because the Xbox 360 will only recognize 2 at a time. So let’s say you have two flash drives plugged in already, it wouldn’t recognize the hard drive without removing one of the flash drives
    first.

Should i get a new xbox
the xbox has never recognized a usb flash drive larger than 16 gb
Wrong.

The 360 can recognize large storage devices just fine. Plug a 64GB USB flash drive into the console with one big FAT32 volume on it? No problem.

Up until Fall 2012, the 360 could only make use of 16GB of a FAT32 volume as a USB Memory Unit. As of the Fall 2012 update, that has doubled to 32GB.

Support finally got around to updating the
    USB flash drive doc
with the 32GB information. Note that to create a USB Memory Unit of maximum capacity, a drive larger than maximum capacity must be used due to differences in how the 360 denotes 32GB vs how storage manufacturers denote 32GB.

USB memory stick lost files after turning off my system

I would use a Xbox 360 Flash Drive from SanDisk.its a pre-configured Xbox 360 Flash Drive from SanDisk. This official Xbox 360 USB Flash Drive by SanDisk is pre-configured to work with the Xbox 360 console.

Can no longer use external storage

In my case, the drive is recognized by PS4 just fine. But Xbox does not recognize ANY storage device - several hard drives or USB flash drive.
