Xbox 360 sours my feelings toward Microsoft

I have always bought Microsoft computers and products, including the Xbox 360. A while back I spent hours on the phone with MS tech support due to the fact that a game I had downloaded did not work (Chaos Theory). I jumped through their hoops and at the
end of it all the game did not work and I was not refunded my $17 or even given credit for it. All other downloads have worked fine. Xbox live has been glitchy at best also. Nevertheless, I shrugged it off and carried on. Now due to the recent cancellation
in excellent games such as Ascend: Hand of Kul and Warface I can no longer turn a blind eye. Despite the voices of many they decided to shut the games down. Many assume it is because they want everyone to buy the Xbox One, or that the Xbox version of these
games were used to fund the PC version, and nothing more. Although these are F2P games I always supported the games with purchases. Money is not the primary motive for my sour feelings, but the principle of standing by your loyal customers and the products
you put out. It is highly unlikey they will continue to have my support going forward.

Everyone has their own feelings towards the Xbox One and support for the 360 ends around 2016.

Good post Rubix. I feel MS started caring more about money and less about consumers and it ruined the good feeling I had toward the xbox. I'm still happy with my 360 and PC (thanks to Steam) for now.

 

Crash course 2 also got shut down and that was such a great game for me.I spent a lot of money on arcade games and would buy a lot more but now im not sure anymore with games and servers being shut down lately.

 

Everything will be shut down on the 360 within a few years.

Every single thing you buy or have bought already will be shut down.

Enjoy it now while you can, and move on once its gone.

 

Those games were removed due to the actions of the games developers,it was nothing to do with Microsoft,unless you want completely broken games on xbox live ?

 

When the games were cancelled both Microsoft and the developers put out public notices of apology, though Microsoft's lacked any sort of sincerity and was obviously a cookie cutter corporate response. Still not sure their rationale for ditching the games,
but rumor has it that MS it notoriously difficult to work with. From everything I have read the decision to end these games has come from MS.

 

Yes they were removed by Microsoft but because of what the games developers did.

It was either that or have broken & unplayable games on the marketplace.

 

If you used a credit card, ring up your credit card company, tell them what's gone on as they don't let the company have the money for a month if there is a problem.

 

Chaos Theory is an original Xbox game and will not work without an official Xbox 360 hard drive.

 

Thank you Obsessive Power. I don't know if my hard drive is an "official xbox hard drive" but all other games work. If MS tech support had simply informed me of this when I called and given me credit towards another game this would not be an issue. Instead
I spent over 2 hours with them on the phone. They refused to give the money back or offer credit for the game. Not very good customer service. Once Warface officially ends on Feb 1st, I will most likely be going with PS4.
