Xbox 360 Slim turns off automatically help

Hello I had this problem for a while whenever I turn on my Xbox 360 slim on it automatically turns off and once I turn It back on it sets the resolution to 480p and the normal Resolution I use is 1080p. But one day I left the Xbox on 480p And it never
turned off so I moved it back to 1080p but turns Off when on 1080p. I tried this on 720p too and turns off on That too.

Do you use a surge protector or power extension lead at all ? If so try connecting the Xbox power supply directly to the mains power outlet, It could be that the surge protector or extension lead is dropping power which would cause the Xbox to power off.

Hello, it's quite possible that your Xbox is overheating and therefore shuts down automatically so it does not get damaged, it's protection and most of it has every device. Let the Xbox completely clean the dust and also make a new hot-conducting paste
in service.

Sorry to hear about the power issues. Can you post the make and model of your TV? I'd like to start there, but just so I don't leave you hanging, why don't you try

clearing the Xbox 360 console's cache three times. After you do that, power down your Xbox 360 console and unplug the power cable, HDMI, and anything else plugged in and let it sit for 5 minutes. Hook it all back up and see if it will let you go to 720p
or 1080p! \/

Post back with information about your TV if those initial troubleshooting steps didn't work!

Hi there, I'm not sure exactly what you mean are you talking about the Xbox 360S (slim) with built in wireless? If so when you plug in an Ethernet cable it should automatically turn off the built in wireless.

The Xbox 360 console can unexpectedly turn off under the following circumstances:

The Auto-Off setting is enabled, and the console has been inactive for 6 hours.
The console is too hot.
There's a problem with the power supply.

Hi, it could be the Xbox is overheating.

Ensure there is plenty of room around the Xbox to allow the air to flow, also the power supply can be a cause, make sure that's not laying on a carpet or other soft furnishing as that also needs good airflow around it.

Does the power light on the Xbox flash two red lights at all before the Xbox shuts down or is there any kind of message popping up on screen before shutdown ?
