Xbox 360 Slim Static/Clicking noise when discs are playing.

I was just playing Fallout 3 on my Xbox 360 slim. When I started to hear a loud static/clicking sound. For about an hour I though it was the game (because the game has to do a lot with radiation) but I realized that it was louder than usual. And so I turned
down my tv and still heard it at the same volume. The. I turned my TV off and still heard it. So it wasn't my speakers, tv, or HDMI. So I put my ear up to my Xbox and I could hear a very loud static/clicking noise. When I opened my disc tray, the sound stopped.
And so I started up the game again. And after a couple minutes, the noise started again. So I turned it off and on. And it still continued. Then I put in 4 different games and it still made the noise. Then I tried a Movie and a CD and it did the same thing.
As of now it still makes this strange Clicking/Static sound. I am letting my Xbox rest for now to see if it helps. But I'm afraid to use it anymore, for it may ruin the game or the Xbox it self. FYI I don't know if this could be the cause(s) but: last week
I had the "Open Disc Error", I've had the Xbox for 5 years, and the Xbox has Fallen twice (but not severely). I am using an Xbox 360 Black Slim.

You may try to change the position of your console and see if the noise is gone, sometimes dust caught in the fan can cause it to make rattling noise.

It is possible that there is an issue with the tray (due to falling) and it is coming loose. If this is the case then your only option here will be to send it in for repair or purchase a new one.
