Xbox 360 Slim Shutting Off by Itself

Hi, my Xbox 360 Slim keeps shutting off by itself. Theres nothing bumping the button, its in the same spot ive kept my older 360 for years, the power brick shows a solid orange light. Help?

What Chipset do I have?

Xbox 360 Slims, as far as I know, keep themselves from overheating by shutting off if they get too hot. I've been constantly using my Xbox 360 Elite for a year now and no RRoD for me

Xbox 360 Slim turns off by itself

Hello, I own an Xbox 360 Slim 4GB that I bought in late 2011. The problem with it is that every time I turn it on it turns off randomly by itself. Like sometimes it turns off right when I turn the console on or it would turn off after a few minutes of keeping
it on. So for my Xbox to stay on I need to keep turning it on repeatedly until it stays on... eventually it would just stay on so that i can play or watch netflix... But I still don't know why it turns off, like if it was haunted or something, the xbox looks
fine and the power brick is fine too, it has a yellow light when the console is off and a green light when its on. The fan still works so I don't if its overheating because I know that can cause video game consoles to turn off. I keep it on a wooden surface
which also holds my TV and the xbox has space so nothing is blocking or touching the xbox. I tried cleaning the power button with a ear swab because i know it could hold fingerprints which could mess up the calibration. This problem started this year like
around February and I'm sure it doesn't have warranty anymore because i bought it 2 years ago. So maybe anyone has any thoughts on how to fix this or if you have the same problem. Please reply

Hello, Sorry for this inconvenience.
Try checking to see if the auto off is deactivated. If that doesn't work try greasing or cleaning, with a soft cloth, the button of the Xbox.

Do not use the cooler the slim does not need it ! and that is proven and even if the Slim was to get to hot it shuts itself off automatically the piece of junk will wreck your slim.

It's fine, it means the slim is getting rid of all excess heat, and it'll shut itself off before it can damage itself. I'd recommend installing it to your HDD if you like the game and play it frequently, and if you have the space.
