    XBox 360 slim red light flashes but won't turn on?


    Our XBox 360 S stopped working. When you try to turn it on, the power button flashes for a few seconds and it sounds like a fan is blowing, then it just shuts off. I made sure there is plenty of ventilation, and tried replacing the power cord with no luck.
    It has been off for 3 days so I doubt it's overheated. Anyone have any ideas?

    I turn off my console, the green light flashes, I turn off my tv, console turns back on.

    When I am done playing a game I will turn off my Xbox 360 Slim and the tv. The green light on the power button will flash and then it turns my Xbox 360 Slim back on. If I let the light flash for a bit until it stops and then turn off my tv the console won't
    turn back on. Sometimes I have to let it flash onces and it's done or sometimes I have to wait and let it flash 5 times. Any ideas how to stop this? It's kind of irritating that my console turns itself back on lol.

    A flashing green light? This means the disc tray is opening and/or closing. Unless you ment to say a flashing Red light which means the Xbox 360 Slim is overheating.
