Xbox 360 slim power supply red light

i recently bought a used Xbox 360 slim. It worked perfectly for the first week with about 8 hours of play time. Then suddenly in the middle of playing a game it completely shut down. I checked the power supply and it was showing a solid red light. I unplugged
and let it sit for a few hours before plugging back into wall and Xbox. Within 15 min the same thing occurred. Then I decided to borrow a friends power supply and everything worked great for 3 hours until the same red light issue resurfaced. Not sure if my
outlet is frying the power supply or if there is an issue with the console. Also after unplugging and then rep lugging the power supply an orange light appears until I power the system back on and it turns to green. It will work for 10-15 min until it shuts
down and shows the red light. Please help

I have a mw3 xbox 360 slim and the power supply light is red...the problem is the power supply has a 120w and the only ones online r 135w...someone help

Xbox keeps shutting off.

I have an Xbox 360 Slim and it keeps randomly shutting off. Whenever it shuts off it dosn't have the red rings however the light on the power supply turns red. Any tips.

It's odd that you had the same issue with another power supply. Here's what the official support page has to say:

Flashing orange, solid red, or no light: Your power supply may need to be replaced. Try the following solutions:

Try plugging your console’s power supply into a different electrical outlet. Do not use a surge protector.

If the power supply light is solid red or flashing orange, unplug the power supply and let it cool for 30 minutes. Then, plug the power supply back into the outlet.

If your power supply light is still flashing orange, solid red, or unlit, your power supply needs to be replaced. You can
Order a replacement Xbox 360 power supply from our Xbox Online Service Center. Console registration is required to replace the power supply under warranty (the power supply warranty
is the same as your console warranty).

I tried switching outlets as well with both power supply and the same issue occurs. I'm thinking my outlets are frying the power supply or the port in the console where the power supply plugs in is faulty.

This red light issue sounds as though, the power supply is not connecting with the Xbox 360 properly.

Maybe the issue is with the power supply, over-heating or the Xbox 360 is over-heating.

I use to have this issue too with my Xbox 360 Slim. Is the brick of the power supply turning red? My brick would light up red and I dusted it out with an air can, and it went back to normal.

Is the red light on the power supply or the XBox 360 S console? If the red light is on the power supply it is a good assumption something might be wrong with the power supply. If replacing the power supply does not work I am sure you could sell the new
power supply to get your money back. It is certainly a cheaper option than buying a new 360.

On the console, is it blinking or solid red light? A blinking red light on the power button means that your console doesn’t have enough ventilation. The red light will continue to blink until the console cools down. If solid red around the power button,
it is possible that you will need to replace the console.
