    Xbox 360 Slim Power Brick doesn't power for more than 15min, what do I do?


    My boyfriend gave me his Xbox 360 Slim, the power brick (one specific power brick, I own 3) it only powers for 15 minutes then powers itself off then turning off the console. The power brick turns orange, & will not turn on the console itself. This repeats
    continuously & I can turn the console back on, after 30 minutes or so, from just un-plugging the power brick from the console. Then, it works again for 15 minutes then repeats.

    I've tried 3 different power bricks & only the one does that above, the other doesn't even turn on, but I bought that used from a friend.

    Can I use an Xbox 360 slim power brick on an Xbox One

    So I have not upgraded to an Xbox One yet, but I found one on Ebay for 218 dollars. The reason it is so cheap is because it comes without a controller and the power brick. I can buy a controller no problem, but that leaves the power brick. From what I have seen online, the power brick for the Xbox One has similar jacks to the one on my Xbox 360 slim. I checked online to see if the power brick would work with the One, but I found no information on it. Do any of you happen to know if it works?

    Explain the size of the power brick. To me it looks about the same size as the 360 Slim's one, maybe slightly bigger or smaller. And that the power brick is bigger than the one for my HP Pavilion dv6 PC. And that the console too is slightly bigger than the
    360 slim. New technology in my opinion should mean the box be the same size or smaller than the 360 Slim. Sure it will have power modes and that it uses an 8 core AMD Jaguar APU, which is a low power architecture by AMD.

    Solid Red Light On Console (360-S)

    I also have a solid red light on my 360S. I've done everything at the link above without success and according to the suggestions I need a new power brick.

    However I own more than one 360S and swapping the power brick doesn't work. What's more both power bricks work perfectly on my other console, which effectively eliminates the powerbrick as a cause.

    Are there any other solutions?

    power brick is about as big, if not a smidge bigger than the 360 slim powerbrick. I'm not sure why people get so caught up in the size of the xbox and/or the power brick. It just gets stuck behind the xbox out of view.

    If an external power bricks helps my console to stay cool and last for 10 years.....I'm all for it.

    You do get some noisy ones that's for sure, the one I got with my Gears console certainly was. Thankfully i still had the old power brick (from the old style xbox 360) those things really are silent. So with a very cheap adaptor that allows you to connect
    the old style power brick to the new slim I now have the best of both worlds

    A very quiet xbox 360 with a very quiet power brick

    How loud is your power brick?

    Sounds like your power brick needs to see a doctor. Contact Xbox Support for an appointment :) An Xbox 360 slim console and Xbox 1 console are suppose to be whisper quiet meaning it shouldn't create noise which bothers you (doesn't mean it will be silent).

    My power brick is this loud:

    .... that's how quiet it's suppose to be.
