Xbox 360 Slim open tray

Hello, iam having a problem with my xbox 360 i was playing a game then i wanted to change it, so when i changed it, it tells me open tray so i tried another games and the same problem happens, so i tried to power it off and i also tried remocing dust with
a hair drayer, and they didn't work, i also noticed there's a sound when i insert a disc it's like a clicking sound, please help me!! Thanks

Open Tray in xbox 360 slim

Hello, I have a problem with my Xbox 360 Slim console for about a year, it's annoying I put a disk in my console and an "Open Tray" message appears if anyone knows how to solve this problem, thank you in advance. I took these two examples on

xbox 360 SLim **open tray * what is this the new red ring

Are you aware of any new 360 slims making an "open tray" beep during gameplay? My new 360 slim was making that beep sometimes while playing Black Ops online. Tray doesn't open or anything and gameplay was not disturbed. Weird. Makes me think of pinging
but I know it's not pinging. I hope. More recently, has not beeped in awhile. Keep fingers crossed.

...Hair...dryer? What? Please...don't...don't ever do that. Like, ever. Okay? Especially not into your DVD drive. If your console isn't reading discs, follow the troubleshooting steps here:

support.xbox.com/.../disc-drive-solution

If these don't work, then your console needs to be sent in for repair.

I got a brand new xbox 360 slim in christmas 2011. A month later, the power button blinks/flashes. And the disk tray open and closes. On the xbox home menu, it says the *** is opening( even when the tray is fully open) or close tray. Can someone PLEASE help
me. Xbox boxes break so easy. I thought the slim would be better. but it only lasted a month. I probably going to get ps4 instead of xbox720 if microsoft don't fix all the problems with xboxes.

Hi, umm my xbox 360 slim, i have auto play on which obviously wont work but when i open and close the tray it says reading for a second with a beeping sound then no spinning and then open tray? PLEASE HELP. ITS GETTING ON MY NERVES!

I believe @Hassassinade is wrong. I believe this "open tray" error can be caused by an update.

Here's my situation...

I just plugged in a very old XBOX 360 slim after being plagued with "open tray" issues on a newer slim. The old slim has a very old dashboard and has been untouched for years (the power supply was bad on it).

I plugged in the old slim WITHOUT A HARD DRIVE OR INTERNET, and sure enough it fires right up, no open tray issue and laser was very happy to read any game disc I throw at it.

I then put inserted the hard drive from my newer slim (the one with open tray issues) into the older slim that is working. It finds my profiles, and of course tells me I need to update the console/live etc. So I connect internet and let it try to update.
Progress bar for update download freezes at about 10%. So I reboot. After rebooting, instantly open tray error. Turned off, removed the HD, reboot - open tray issue. Removed internet, reboot -open tray issue.

In summary:

A basically "brand new" old stock XBOX slim was working fine until the moment it was x-posed to the internet and/or a HD and updates from a newer slim. Nothing to do with hardware here in this case.

Xbox 360 Slim (as it is normally called) has a touchpad sensor for the ON/OFF button and Open/Close disc tray, this might cut down some costs, probably not much.

Wired profile

A flashing green light? This means the disc tray is opening and/or closing. Unless you ment to say a flashing Red light which means the Xbox 360 Slim is overheating.
