Xbox 360 slim not playing games

Ok so i know this has been discussed a million times and it ends up with usually the same answer. But my situation is different. I have a slim 4g without the drive yet. It reads the disc perfectly fine cause i just replaced the disc drive. Now when i try
to select "play game", it takes me to home screen after disconnecting and reconnecting with xbox live. Would yall pm me what you feel could be the issue? Is a 250 hdd required to play any game? I have tried more than one game and the same result happens.

Of course it is quite a bit bigger than the 360 slim, the original Xbox 360 was bigger than the slim, I'm sure it's bigger than the Xbox One slim will be too. That's the point of releasing the slim versions later on. But it is only 2.4cm longer than the original Xbox 360, which is what it should be compared to, not the revised, shrunk later released versions.

Console fan noise

It's not a metal sound, but it is way louder than my xbox 360 slim when playing a digital game.

I'm not sure how to explain, but its like whirling sound, very differente from the 360.

 

What games are you trying to play? Are they original Xbox games or 360 games?

 

Did you replace the disc drive by your self?

 

I am trying to play forza 4 for 360. I did install the disc drive myself. I had the confidence to do it myself without damaging the device. Sorry it took me awhile to get back to ya.

 

sorry all disc drives are unique to the console they were first put in the console. you cannot just swap a drive and have it work that is why you are not able to play any games. sadly since you repaired it yourself MS will not fix it for you you're only
option is to buy a new 360.

 

Ok so i have the original disc drive as well but it was having a binding issue where it would not be able bring the disc tray to the proper reading level on it. In my attempt to fix that disc drive, i put in a new laser and worm motor. I will talk to a local
tech guy and see if he can link the disc drive or repair the old one.

 

FYI if anybody other than MS repairs a 360 you can look at a possible console ban for system tampering sorry.

 

Sorry but no one on the forums can help you out with this. Once you tried to do a self repair you voided the warranty of the product.

This means that not only can you not send the console in for repair but discussion of self repair of the consoles is not allowed on the forums.

You should purchase a new console try to avoid self repair in the future.
