    Xbox 360 Slim internal wifi not working


    I am experiencing a similar issue, I have an Xbox 360 slim that has a built in wi-fi adapter. When I go to try to connect to my wi-fi it says I need to plug in a wireless adapter, This has been going on for about a year. I am aggravated, but am needing help
    soon.

    I have been using an Xbox 360 Slim and in the past have successfully used my internal wifi connector. Recently I have been using a hardline into the wall for a faster connection however I am at a new house and with no hardline I tried to use the wifi however
    when I click on wireless networks in network configuration it says "error you must plug in a wireless adapter to connect to a wireless network. It also doesn't think it is still connected view wire. Please Help!

    Xbox 360 Slim internal wifi not working

    It sounds the wifi may be on the way out, mine is doing the same thing. I find I can usually get it working again by turning the console off by the plug and leaving it for a minute, before switching it back on.

    If this doesn't work it might need repairing, you can get started with a repair request here -

    support.xbox.com/.../repair-process     and Microsoft are quite speedy when it comes to repairs. Hope this helps.

    Hello.

    If you have a Xbox 360 Slim (which as built-in wifi) and you are asked to attach an external networking adapter or an ethernet cable, then the internal wifi has malfunctioned and your Xbox 360 Slim will need to be repaired.

    Same problem here. My new xbox 360s connects to my network via internal wifi but it will not connect to xbox live. Everything else in the house connects fine. My xbox even connects when I plug in the old Adapter( from my last xbox) meaning the issue is with
    the internal wifi. This is one reason I bought a new xbox slim(internal wifi) this is BS!

    Im pretty sure that you cant use the old wifi adaptors with the xbox 360 slim because the internal wifi connection utilizes wifi-N, the newer standard of wireless connections and may not properly interface with the xbox 360 slim.

    As for getting a better signal.... i dont think it really makes a difference, most issues regarding that usually are environmental issues surrounding the 360 and nearby access point or the router. For instance having thick walls, microwaves, other computers
    running wireless, etc.
