Xbox 360 slim getting hot

I have a halo 4 slim and it has been used alot since December 2012. Usually it doesn't get so hot but I was playing gta online today and it was SUPER HOT. I let it set for 10 min. And started playing but it got really hot again.

Any cooling methods or ways to keep it cool?

Also it is in a cool well ventilated area and all my games are installed except gta v disk 2 which I was playing when it happened.

Couldn it be the game?

Slim and overheating??

if you have slims getting that hot then your doing something wrong.

Xbox slim getting very hot

I had a lot of trouble my sons Xbox kept freezing when signed into Xbox live hard drive no good using external 1 just for now but console is getting very hot just started like this since last update could 1 thing effect the other

It's fine, it means the slim is getting rid of all excess heat, and it'll shut itself off before it can damage itself. I'd recommend installing it to your HDD if you like the game and play it frequently, and if you have the space.

The 360 slims get really hot if you game on them for long periods, my play sessions are 6-10 hours each and mine gets really hot (star wars version) however i also own a 250gb black 360 as well and that doesn't get very hot, but it is newer than my main
one.

Xbox 360 Slims, as far as I know, keep themselves from overheating by shutting off if they get too hot. I've been constantly using my Xbox 360 Elite for a year now and no RRoD for me

FYI Every Xbox slim seems to get hot but really its a normal temperature. If the slim begins to over heat or senses that it will it will automatically shut its self off unlike the older style Xbox 360's

As for the game issue i will poke around and see if there is a solution to your issue.
