From what you've described, it sounds like it may be time to replace that 360 console.

With 360 consoles and the type of issue that you're experiencing, we're limited with our troubleshooting options. If you do have a local third party Xbox repair technician in your area, you might want to try that.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. The article entitled, "Troubleshoot Xbox 360 graphical display problems" contains solutions for
this type of issue. There is a section of the article that mentions AV cables. If you are using an HDMI cable, just follow the same instructions. Since Microsoft no longer services the Xbox 360, we suggest disregarding the last part of the article. Instead
of requesting a repair, you would have to replace the console. Be sure to let us know the results!

I should have mentioned that I tried all those steps before posting my question. None have helped.

I have seen some youtube stuff where they were saying it could be a Graphics chip problem. Replacing it very involved and may have to replace the unit. Can you confirm if this is the case? I hardly used this box.

You should also check out this other semi-general thread another user posted some time ago with a similar problem. Except in place grey image distortion their problem was blue image distortion.

Another good thing to consider and try would be by putting your TV on cable or some other video settings like hooking up a DVD/Blu-Ray player to the TV and see if you experience the grey image distortion in those media styles as well. If you do, consider
editing you TV's picture settings manually by resetting things like brightness, sharpness, and saturation in your TV's settings.

There's also an Xbox Support display troubleshooter you may find handy if the other link and suggestion doesn't aid in solving the problem.

But the Razer setup does say :
