Xbox 360 Slim case vibrating/resonating

I have a small, but kind of annoying problem with Xbox 360 Slim.

The console works fine otherwise, but it seems that the plastic case is vibrating at times. The console starts to make a weird "resonating" noise. When i press the case from front or top, the noise stops (or sometimes gets louder until i get it right). Sometimes
that helps for a long time, even days, sometimes the noise returns quite soon. I guess it depends on how successful i am at pressing from the right spot

It only does it after the console has been on for a while, so i am thinking that the reason is that when the console gets warm, there is "heat expanding" or something that slightly alters the plastics alignment.

Has anyone had this problem or do you otherwise have any suggestions about how to fix it?

change of hdd

So will the xbox 360 slim 4gb take a hdd from a xbox 360 slim 250gb? And is the only differences the cases and the hdd capacity in the two slim xboxs

xbox 360 slim Data transfer to another xbox 360 slim?

I have a xbox 360 slim 250gb and i was wondering... if that was to ever break, can i transfer my data to another xbox 360 slim?

i know this can be done with the fat xbox transfering to a xbox slim. but can i transfer data from a 360 slim to another slim? in case my 360 slim ever did break?

I will reply myself as things have progressed.

I had a nice chat with a very friendly support agent. He thought the same that i do, it is probably the fan which also causes resonation on the case.

Luckily the console still has warranty left, so it will be going for repairs. Hopefully changing the fan will solve the issue.

I will try to remember to update this when i get it back.

Got my 360 back today. Still too early to say if the sound is still there, but at least so far it seems ok. Will see when i get to test it more.

One additional thing that i am wondering...

The console has the same serial number than it had when i sent it for repair. However, it seems to be handled as replacement by Xbox Live, it for example wanted me to do license transfer for my installed games.

I assume it is the same console, because serial number has not changed, so why does Xbox Live think it is not?

I've had problems with resonance/vibration with other electronics on different furniture in the past (e.g. my former iMac on my desk). What helped me in that case was using furniture coasters (cloth ones helped more than those made out of plastic) - or as
was already mentioned - trying anti-vibration mats.

It's probably cheapest and easiest to try that first.

No issues for me and I've dropped even gently thrown my controller onto the carpet floor. The casing does feel thinner than the casing on my Xbox 360 slim console's wireless controller. And when the controller vibrates, it does so violently like when I try
to drive crazy using the buggy in Zoo Tycoon. But it does that due to what is inside it.

My only issue with the controller is it vibrates like crazy, like 10x more than how the Xbox 360 wireless controller for my Xbox 360 slim console vibrates, especially when playing Forza 5 and Zoo Tycoon (driving buggy like a bad driver). It's probably because
of the motor things inside the controller. It would be nice if M could come up with a Dashboard software setting which decreases the vibration.
