Xbox 360 Single Red Light, Right bottom of power, Error E74

Hello fellow Xboxers! I have a Xbox 360 Core, the one before the arcade, and recently it has been flashing 1 red light at the bottom right corner of the power button. On the screen it says that the error code is E74. I do not have a hard drive for
the Xbox, and I don't think thats the problem. I have unplugged everything then tried again, used an air compressor to blow the dust out, but I still get the error and flashing light. What do I do? I really don't want to have to send it back to Microsoft because
my warranty has expired.

If you noticed I also posted this in a different forum area, it was the wring one so now I'm posting in the right one!

RROD; What Are My Options?

It all depends, on what error code has come up, when the RROD occurred & what lights on the ring, light up... It could be easily fixable..

1. Bottom Right Light [4th Player Light Red] = Hardware Failure.. (E74 etc)

2. Top & Bottom Left Lights [1st & 3rd Lights Red] = Overheating Issue..

(Should stop flashing, after it cools down.. Turn off immediately)

3. Top Left & Bottom Left & Right Lights [1st, 3rd & 4th Lights Red] = General Hardware Failure..


(no Error code, will be displayed & it should work after restart)

4. All Four Lights Red = AV Cable Error.. (Change AV Cable)

..

About the HDD... You can't use the old Pro/Elite HDD in the new 360 Slims etc

 

Xbox Trouble RRoD?

When I turn on my Xbox I get the Red light in the bottom right corner (4th controller light) and I looked up the problem n it sayed the error code (E74) ment I had a problem with my AV Cable cord, I bought a new one n it still is doing this can any1 help???

 

Seems your console is in need of repairs for that is a hardware issue you are experiencing.

 

I currently do not have a hard drive or any memory for the xbox 360(I don't know if that is why I get the light).

All that remains is to ask for repairs

 

I have done all the steps except I cannot remove the hard drive or memory cars because I don't have one yet. How much does it cost to get it repaired w/o a warranty? Or can I take it to like GameStop and see if they know?
