Xbox 360 shuts off immediately when connected to any HDMI TV, has red light

When the console shuts its self off does it have any red lights/flashing red lights on the power brick (Big thing on the power cord) or the Xbox

Do you see "no signal" on the monitor or it just turn off ?

If no signal AND if the HDMI cable is ok , its 99.99 % sure that your HDMI out port from the console has a hardware issue.

If turn off AND no red lights on the console, its a sync issue / bad compatibility with the monitor > So you should try the Xbox 360 on a tv ( not a pc monitor )

If red lights , check on www.xbox.com/support and search the error code ( 1 / 2 / 3 or 4 red lights - Flashing … )

looks like you got the red ring of death. i've listed you the different codes that follow with the lights. normally its an overheating issue.

• One red light. This is the Hardware Failure indicator. It is usually accompanied by an “E74” or similar code displayed on the TV. This is caused by the video scalar chip being damaged.
• Two red lights. This is an overheating error. If the console becomes too hot, the system will shut down and display this light code. The fans will continue running until the components have been cooled.
• Three red lights. This is the General Hardware Failure, also known as the Red Ring of Death. This indicates that one or more components have failed, and that the system is no longer operable unless you turn off your console for 24 hours. No error code will
  be displayed on the TV.
• Four red lights. This indicates that the AV cable is not correctly plugged in. Check the connection from the console to the TV. This code will not display for HDMI connections.

I know it may sound daft, but have you checked all the cables are correctly plugged in to both the Xbox and the TV?

Other than that, is there any more information you can provide?

How are you connecting the Xbox to the TV - is it through a Scart lead or an HDMI lead? Is the Xbox showing any error signs (sections of the ring of light illuminated red)? Have you tried connecting the Xbox to another TV?

Typically, this means the audio/video (A/V) cable is not connected correctly or is faulty.

Try reconnecting your console and TV

1. Remove any devices placed between the console and the TV.

2. Connect the HDMI cable from the back of your console directly into the HDMI port on your HDTV or monitor.

3. If you’re using an audio-only A/V cable, unplug this cable and then connect the HDMI cable from the back of the console directly into the HDMI port of your HDTV or monitor.

- Make sure that your TV is on.

- Remove any devices, such as a receiver, placed between the console and the TV.

- If your TV has an eco/energy saving mode, turn off the video options.
