    Xbox 360 shuts off and powers on by itself


    My Xbox 360 is turning on and off by itself. The auto shutdown setting is disabled, and it is not overheating because it shuts off about 3 minutes or less after turning on. I thought it may be the power supply, by the light stays a consistent solid green
    while it is on and solid yellow when off. Any idea what the problem could be? The only time it turns itself on is after it has shut itself off and it usually happens three or four times.

    Considering you have tried numerous solutions with failure, you can try sending your Xbox in for repair, or even trying your Xbox 360 in a friend/relative's house to see if the same issue occurs. In regards to power surges, it's very unlikely and you've
    probably purchased faulty consoles.

    the xbox usb ports are always live so the only alternative to save itself is shut off the power.

    Todays Xbox Update

    It appears that the power saving setting has reset itself to shut down after 1 hour. I've never had this set since I first got the Xbox so was mightily surprised to see it had shut itself off when I was eating dinner.
