Xbox 360 servers shutting down in 2016 ???

"obviously better"? How so? I can't even tell them apart if all I see is a game being played on a tv screen.

alot of you keep posting saying (omg don't shut down i can't afford an xbox one) or something close to that but lets face it we seen at E3 they will be allowing backwards compatibility to the xbox one allowing for xbox 360 games to be played there and played
online as well so face it the servers are not shutting down unless microsoft them self says they are shutting down the servers

 

All I know is that if MS cant fix and keep their servers up then just shut them all down. Its getting worst than PSN.

 

How is Xbox Live getting worse than PSN?

PSN servers are much worse than Xbox Live servers, fact.

 

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I was referred to this thread by a little google search. I read most of all the replies and people made some very good points that are worth listening to. I find it hard to believe that Microsoft would publish or even allow
new games to be developed for the 360 such as the new Black Ops 3 if they intended on shutting down the servers soon thereafter. Not to mention it is still being updated. The latest release of 360 firmware was 17349 I believe.

I like the point made referring to xbox history, although I never had an original xbox I would like to believe history would repeat itself in allowing the servers to stay online for many years after the last game for that console had been released.

I enjoy playing Xbox 360 a lot in my spare time and I'm sure I would enjoy the Xbox One just as much. I have not had the chance nor money to make the upgrade. Until recently I actually did not care to update to the next generation console. Xbox One now has
reverse compatibility and is a great feature to have on a console where it's predecessor was active for so many years and has so many great titles to choose from, why would not allow user to continue to enjoy their favorite games on their next generation console.
It's something Nintendo has been doing for so long. Every new Nintendo system has the ability to play the previous consoles' games.

I'd like to end this by saying as far as rumors go: unless I hear it from a credible source I would rather not waste my time pondering such a thought. To my knowledge Microsoft has not commented or publicly discussed a date or even that it will happen in
the near future. So I say you have plenty of time to continue enjoying the 360 and it's games, even if you have a Xbox One.

 

i joined back in 2011 & the dashboard content did seem very lively then compared to now as the One has come out, i was feeling 360 is lacking attention like that, but i doubt it'll be shutting down anytime soon, I'll say give it another 3-5 years maximum.

 

I'm really hoping they keep the 360 servers up..I mean, there' s still Destiny content to be released among Map packs for Advanced Warfare and the next CoD being released...It's just too soon to shut them all down, with developers still releasing games for
the 360.

If the 360 servers shut down and Microsoft decide to add backwards compatibility, they would have to create new servers all together which is something that they won't do.

 

I HOPE Xbox Live for 360 DOESN'T shut down. That would really make me sad and all the games that have been saved up. I think they should just stick with what's happening now, at least not until next year but even then that's really not fair. That would be
a HUGE disappointment.

 

But Microsoft doesn't care about Xbox 360 its all about the Xbox one to them I guess I'm going to have to just get a Xbox one not because the might shut it down but for better everything I think everyone should try to move on too the Xbox one I know its
a lot of money but I think its worth $349 plus I really want the Xbox one exclusives

 

That's really just wrong. Just plain wrong. I can't afford a new console! I have over 50 games for the 360! If you guys really shut the servers down you're gonna lose a lot of players and fans in a very little bit of time.
