XBox 360 servers not updating properly

Several games aren't updating leaderboards properly, despite not having any potentially breaking patches. I don't know if it's universal, but multiple people have reported the problem. What we've found is that data is saved until we exit out of the game,
then is lost, _except_ for matches lasting five minutes or less. For example, I've been playing GTA4 recently. I get xp at the end of every round, and if I rank up, I unlock new clothing options. When I play again the next day, however, I'm back at my old
rank and the options are lost. It also makes certain achievements next to impossible, unless I just leave my 360 running and playing the same game forever.

Another affected game is Far Cry 2, which is especially notable since it was just Games with Gold last month.

I can still play the games, so it doesn't matter much to me, but I'd like to know what's going on. Is a fix in the works? Is this just an intentional step in Microsoft ending 360 online support?

Hello Peaches,

Sorry for the issues with certain things updating. As some games are not run by Microsoft and the developers there may be some things that don't work. Personally have noticed a few things with backward compatible games myself. When you are in a backward
compatible game, hit the back button with the start button. This brings up the Xbox 360 menu. go to storage and see if cloud save is enabled.

As mentioned a bit by Brad, games along with their respective servers are ran by their developers.

This would mean that any XP being lost as well as multiplayer progress within a game would come down to informing the developer about the issue being experienced to gain information on if that specific game is coming close to being shutdown.

Hi servers are active so the problems are related to the GTA manufacturers who maybe have trouble recording the save.

Also, don't forget about the fact that the Xbox 360 doesn't need any " Day One " patch updates so that you can play them properly long after the Xbox 360 servers go down
