    Hi Guys

    I've been playing Destiny on a HD TV for about a week. My girlfriend is now back for uni. I've been left with attempting to setup my xbox 360 on one of my PC monitors.

    My first a standard 16:9 monitor goes black periodically while in use. I've tried changing cables I just can't get it to work yet it works fine with DVI on the PC.

    My second choice is a 21:9 2560 x 1080 monitor. It appears to run on it but is stretched, I just can't seem to get the xbox to run the res which is understandable as its an odd resolution but is actual pretty good with PC games.

    Any advice would be well appreciated.

    Support for 21:9 ultra-wide [2560x1080]

    Hi, has anyone heard if the Xbox One will support the 21:9 ultra-wide [2560x1080] displays?

    Support for 4K with 1080p upscaling has been mentioned but I haven't heard anything about the ultra-wide.

    Unfortunately Ultra Wide display resolutions are not supported on the Xbox Platform. When referring to 1440P support for the console, this is 2560x1440 which is a 16:9 aspect ratio, whereas 3440x1440 is a 21:9 aspect ratio. PC gaming supports these ultra
    wide settings, Xbox does not.

    Sorry, but you're out of luck.

    Xbox does not support 21:9 aspects ratio (also known as Ultra Wide)

    The max refresh rate of the Series X is 120Hz. The 165Hz on that display is only for the display port.

    That's not a good fit for the Xbox console. You need either a 4K, 1440P or 1080P 16:9 display.

    Do not just pick any display. There are loads of reviews online of compatible displays. You just need to do a little research.

    Unfortunately, Xbox One S and X do not support 'Ultra Wide' display type resolutions with 21:9 aspect ratios. Unless this changes with a system update, your only option is Full HD 1920x1080 in 16:9 aspect ratio.

    Unfortunately this isn't possible. Your display is an Ultra-Wide (3440x1440) and as yet Xbox consoles don't support Ultra-Wide 21:9 aspect resolutions.

    They only support the more common 16:9 aspect resolutions such as 720P (1280x720), 1080P (1920x1080), 1440P (2560x1440) and 4K (3840x2160).

    These monitors are really designed for PC usage rather than game consoles. Unfortunately this means you're either going to be stuck with either a stretched image or one with bars at top and bottom of the display.

    What display do you have your console plugged into?

    By what you're saying, it seems to me you may be using an ultra-wide monitor?

    Ultra-wide aspect ratio displays are not fully supported on the Xbox platform which means a 1080P screen resolution will have bottom and top black strips and the image will look stretched.

    Please confirm.
