Xbox 360 Save game issue, help!

Hi, got an issue with the save game function while playing on dead space 2. I have 3 slots of save games already in use (sg001,002 and 003). Today I tryed to play, but, on the single player screen there's no save games! the only options available is NEW
GAME. I checked my hard drive and there are all 3 save games.... What's wrong?

360 back compatible will our progress still be saved from the games we already had on the 360?

I lost my all save games after formating my Xbox 360 hardrive

I formated my Xbox 360 hard drive and i lost my all save games i forgot to backup my save games please help me!!
