  1. xbox 360 s wireless speed is slow

    Two questions....

    1.

I have US xbox 360 S here in Korea. "Korea Telecom" 500Mbps internet.

Speedtest.com result shows 9ms ping, 467Mbps download, 474Mbps upload (wired to laptop)

11ms, 18Mbps download, 19Mbps upload (LG smartphone in the closed door room)

Wired connection is fast but wireless is terrible as you can see below xbox speed test. (wireless stat)

I tried resetting router several times but no results. I have many devices connecting to the router; smart phones and tablets and so on.. but non have any issue with speed. Router is not even far. Open area in the living room from one corner to another..
distance between them is only 5meters (16ft). As you can see signal strength is 100%.

Some suggested to use DMZ function on the router or use manual ip settings on xbox. So I tried but failed to manually set ip (connects to router but no internet).

My last resort to this is to move the router next to tv/xbox and connect with wire. (as I said, this option will be my last resort since I have to re-wire the main internet line)

    2.

When I first turn on xbox and enter game, xbox tells me I'm not connected to live. I wait.. but still no.. so then I have to enter network and then it detects wireless (I have not selected or do anything..just entering to network) and then I can connect
    to live (log in)

Why is this??? wireless doesn't connect automatically??? How cumbersome to start game and then failed to log in and I need to open network and then go back to main to the game. Frustration!!! Internet search didn't help!

Please help with these two problems!

If your manual IP config don't work, check the settings.

Assign to the Xbox a free IP in your network,

    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

    Gateway: the router IP

    DNS1: 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare, fastest)

    DNS2: 8.8..8.8 (Google as backup)

WHen network is working, if signal strengh is 100% but the connection have bad performance, you can try login in the router and change the Wireless Channel, repeat this process until you find a better one.

Slow network bug (Xbox One S Instant On)

this problem is related to the xbox one s and instant on (if you disable instant on its fine) the xbox one s has a different wireless card that the xbox one.. for this problem it shows slow speed when you do the network test...

so I got the new update today and I figured I would enable instant-on again to see if the problem was fixed. NOPE (kind of figured so) power up from sleep and got slow wireless speeds 1MB on the tests from the xbox one. disabled instant on and its fine (varies
from 60-140 or so but that's normal for wireless)..

is there anything else I should be doing to report this issue and get some kind of a bug id created for tracking????????

    Wi-Fi Speed limit???

Don't worry there isn't a speed limiter installed on the Xbox 360 for either wireless or wired connections. The simple fact is, those sites are no where near accurate. I live a long way from you - In the United Kingdom, and I get measurements from HTML5
speed testing sites that are no where near my actual speed. I've tested it from my Xbox wired and wirelessly, and from my PC which is wired.

The tests I've done state my download speed is between 4 - 9Mb/s. My actual speed is more like 60Mb/s down. I get the same slow speeds recorded by the HTML5 speed test sites that you are getting. Sometimes they report much higher, mostly not.

If you're getting slower web browsing speeds on the 360's Internet Explorer compared to your PC, this is down the console and the browser, not your connection speed. As for the marketplace, it depends on how MS have configured their network and how many users
are trying to download the same thing.
