Xbox 360 S very slow wireless speed - 22mbps

Hello,

For some time now I have been having wifi issues, with signal strength and speed. This is most profound with gaming on my Xbox 360 S. Slow connection / dropping connection etc...

My download speed is quite good around 13-14 Mbps, upload about .75 Mbps. However -
Wireless speed 22 Mbps - via the Xbox test settings.

tested now via PC on ethernet @ Speedtest.net

Ping 38 Ms

Download 12.57 mbps

Upload 0.69 mbps

I have reset the router, correctly port forwarded the 4 port for xbox. Even moved it to mere cm away from the router to test. But no matter what I do I still get no faster that 22 mbps wireless speed. This makes onling gaming and even using IE on xbox to
view webpages a chore. Why is it so slow on a 300 mbps router. Should I not be getting speeds up to 150 mbps!!?

Is the internal wifi card broken or do the router settings need to be adjusted to get up to 150 mbps wireless speed??? Considering I have reset it to factory seetings more than once, I suspect the former.

Mt Huawei 523a router is in the living room on the mantle piece and is 3M from the TV and cordless phone on either side.

download speed is garbage

It's taken me hours to download 4% of a 3.15 gb game. Something is very wrong here. 8ms ping, 22mbps speed.

Slow download speed

Hi. Yesterday bought a new Xbox One. Trying to download a game, but download is really very slow. I have 100 Mbps Internet speed, but Xbox shows me 90 Mbps to upload and about 10 to download, that's odd. Downloading content on 360 is much more faster.
I am using both wired and wireless connections, the result is result same: download is very very slow.

The speed you get via wi-fi is never as fast as a wired connection.

Using my laptop for a speed test check; If I test my connection speed via wi-fi I get roughly 45 Mbps, hard wire it to the router and the speed test result is 98 Mbps.

Therefore since your console appears to be close to the router, I suggest you connect via ethernet cable for a better speed.

Thats no Workasround but i had same issue.

Xbox 360 S with old AVM Modem/Router and 2,4Ghz G Wlan

Showed a +-54Mbit Connection and Speed was Ok

Same Xbox 360 S with ne AVM 7490 Modem/Router and 2,4GHz N Connection

Showes a +- 5Mbit Connection and Speed was Slow

AVM couldn`t help

Micorsoft couldn`t help

have you made sure your network is not blocking any of your ports and that your NAT is open and not saying strict

If your manual IP config don't work, check the settings.

Assign to the Xbox a free IP in your network,

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: the router IP

DNS1: 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare, fastest)

DNS2: 8.8..8.8 (Google as backup)

WHen network is working, if signal strengh is 100% but the connection have bad performance, you can try login in the router and change the Wireless Channel, repeat this process until you find a better one.
