    Xbox 360 S Power supply problem


    Well my Power Brick keeps shutting off with a red light every 30 minutes I play my xbox 360

    I'm thinking of using compressed air to blow through the vents but not sure how Xbox 360 S Power supply problem :p

    Do I just blow the air through the hole?

    Hey there K1NGcLiFtOn!

    Just to make sure I understand, was the old console an original white Xbox 360 console, and Elite, or an Xbox 360 S console?

    We always recommend using the power supply that was designed for that style of console. For example: You can't use an Xbox 360 S power supply with an Xbox 360 E console.

    So if your old Xbox 360 console is not an Xbox 360 S console, we suggest
    not     using the power supply from your new Xbox 360 S console with it.

    Can you use a Canadian Xbox 360 S Power supply on a UAE Xbox 360 S?

    I recently bought an Xbox in the UAE and brought it back to Canada with me. I know there are differences in power and voltage between the two countries so my power supply won't work. Will buying and using an Xbox 360 S power supply brick here in Canada (with
    the Canadian specs) fix this problem?.

    Your PSU is damaged, you can try this procedure of blowing air, but if persists, you can request a repair order for you PSU or a new one at the link below:

    You may want to first and foremost reset your PSU. To do so just unplug it from the console and take the cable that goes into the wall out of the power block itself. Then wait for it to drain completely of power (the LED light goes dark) then plug it back
    in. Make sure you have it plugged into a wall outlet directly not a power strip or surge protector. Also make sure it is in a well ventilated area so it doesn't over heat but if it still goes red. Try Myservice.Xbox.com to check your warranty status and options
    or contact 1-800-4MY-XBOX. Good luck friend.

    That is the same problem I have on my Xbox because it feels pretty hot when it does.

    The power supplies used by the original Xbox 360 consoles are not compatible with the Xbox 360 S console. The Xbox 360 S console uses only a 135-watt power supply.

    I'm sorry to hear about this issue being experienced with your Xbox 360 S not powering on.

    If you've tried everything with the power input then either the power supply or the internal hardware responsible for distribution of the power is no longer working and would need to be replaced. Unfortunately, Microsoft no longer services Xbox 360's or
    sell power supplies for the Xbox 360. The best way to go about this is possibly find a local third party electronic repair center that specializes in consoles or see if you can find a power unit on Amazon or eBay. Here is more information on the Xbox 360 power

    I know the question is answered, but just to let you know, you can get another official xbox power supply from microsoft for your region. All xbox 360 s powers supplies are compatible with all xbox 360 s models, no matter where you are in the world. So
    a UK power supply will work on a US console.
