Xbox 360 S Overheating and Freezing

Hey, guys! I'm having a small problem here. My Xbox 360 S is severely overheating and is freezing. It has a portable fan pointed at the top and the room has the AC going at 70 degrees (f). Right now I've been on it for an hour now and it froze and is really
hot to the touch. Is it a problem with the Xbox or do I need to change something? I can post a picture of the Xbox's position if needed.

Does your XBOX360 freeze?

I faced screen freeze problem 2 or 3 times, and it was because of the faulty game discs. But there are some other reasons that make your screen freeze while playing. Overheating is a most common reason. You may have a look in this article that explains it- Xbox Freezing Solutions.

Follow these tips to make sure that your console can ventilate properly:

Do not block ventilation openings on the console. Even something that seems insignificant, like a disc case, may limit ventilation.

Do not place the console or power supply on a bed, sofa or other soft surface that may block ventilation.

Do not place the console or power supply in a confined space, such as a bookcase, rack or stereo cabinet, unless the space is well ventilated.

Do not place the console or power supply near any heat source, such as a radiator, heat register, stove or amplifier. Very hot heat sources can damage the console.

If your console consistently shuts down automatically due to ventilation problems, even after the console is free from clutter and no vents are obstructed, your console will need service.

If you find out your console does need to be repaired you can find all the relevant information and submit a request here: myservice.xbox.com

Suggest you try looking at this guide, if you haven't done so already:

support.xbox.com/.../xbox-360-screen-freeze

Also see if it might be due to overheating. Freezing sometimes occurs if the xbox is not on a well ventilated place. Hope you can figure it out. Good luck

Do you have you're Xbox 360 in a well-ventilated area? If not, you're xbox can be overheating, and that might be causing you're console freezing.
