Xbox 360 S overheat

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my X360 Slim console. Every time i try to turn it on, 2-3 minutes after it turns off and says that the console is overheat and needs to cool down. When i get the secondary code error, it says error 0012. I tried cleaning the
console, removing everything near to it, and nothing works. Does anyone know what to do?

can somebody please tell me if the xbox 360 slim will overheat if left on for about 8 hours or is it overheat proof

Why because one Ps4 didn't overheat? There were more perfectly functional 360's than there were ones that RROD'd but you still used that to back up your agenda

 

Error 0012 means that it is a hardware error to do with the CPU and/or GPU overheating. Do you also get a semi-circle of red on the power button when booting. There isn't anything that you can do about it without voiding the warranty or breaking it more.
May be time to replace it?

I don't get any semi-circle. As I said, 2-3 minutes after turning it on, it turns off with the overheat warning and a flashing red dot appears right in the middle of the power button. The console isn't even hot, so I believe there may be a hardware error,
as you said. One more question, do you think it's better send for repair (paying for it because i bought the console 2 years ago and I don't have warranty anymore) or buy the new 'super slim' model? Which one is worth more?
