    I've used two different hard drives into my Xbox 360 Slim Model 1439: a Toshiba MQ01ABD100 at 1TB and a Western Digital WD5000BPVT at 500GB. Both were recognized by my Winsows 11 Gaming PC and both were formatted to Fat32 but my console does not recognize that either one was plugged into it as internal memory.

    I've performed a full shutdown with the power cable unplugged for 30 minutes followed by holding the power button for ten and still they were not recognized. The console still recognize its original 250GB internal hard drive so the ports are not an issue. Please advise on any possible solution to this technical issue so I can fully upgrade the internal memory.

    If you are referencing the Xbox 360 S 4GB internal memory then this option was not available on all Xbox 360 S consoles please see the link below and quoted text.

    The Xbox 360 S 250 gigabyte (GB) console has an internal hard drive, which can be removed and replaced.

    The Xbox 360 S 4 GB console has internal flash memory, which is not removable. The internal hard drive can be purchased separately.

    all xbox 360's have upgradable hard drives, the slims just have a different internal hdd from the old 360's.

    Hey Homely, what voteDC is referring to is the internal hard drive requirement for Xbox Originals. Some consoles come with flash memory built in, but no hard drive; examples of these consoles would be the old Arcade models, or the newer Xbox 360 S with 4GB
    Internal Flash. Unfortunately, the internal flash does not qualify as an internal hard drive, so if you have one of these models and want to play Xbox Originals, you'll need to purchase and install a hard drive.
