    Xbox 360 s no display without reciever


    ive had my xbox for 3 years or so, no problems until this fall. Over the summer I lived with my friend who has a Onkyo receiver so we connected my Xbox 360 S to it. Both connections were hdmi. Now the Xbox 360 gives no display or sound without the reciever,
    (plugged directly to my tv with an HDMI). If I plug it into his reciever and then the tv again, it works fine, but without the reciever theres no sound or display

    I have tried

    resetting the display settings with RT and Y

    setting the resolution to 480p

    changing tvs

    changing hdmi cords

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    After Connecting to a receiver XBOX 360 will not work with some TVs

    Reset the Xbox 360's video settings when connected to your reciever.

    will xbox one s work without a hdmi sat/cable, can get video without but no sound

    will xbox one s work without a hdmi sat/cable, can get video without but no sound.

    Previous xbox 360 worked with normal hdmi between xbox and tv.

    You should also try connecting via the composite cables that came with the console. Although when connected via the receiver you can try doing a Factory Reset of the console to put everything back the way it was.

    If you have the S or E model Xbox 360 there is an alternate way to reset the display settings.

    Xbox 360 E or Xbox 360 S console: To reset display setting on these console models, you can also just turn off the console and then hold the power button on the front of the console down for about 10 seconds. (The lights will flash several times.)
