Xbox 360 S Making Odd Noises During Game Play

Hey guys!

I have been struggling to find the problem with my console. Whenever I play a game it will randomly make these loud annoying noises that seem to echo. It sounds like a loud echoing gun shot... It has nothing to do with what game I am playing, it just randomly
occurs during in game conversations, practically any action I do in the game, and even on game home screens. I have ruled out disc damage because I have played brand new games and I get the same problem. My screen will randomly turn green and the resolution
will get crappy and unfocused during times of xbox updates or during game loading screens. I recently added a 320g hard drive because the original owner took his hard drive out before I received it. I have no idea what I should do. I bought a disc lens cleaner
in hopes to improve the audio and better maintain my console. (It says the lens should be cleaned every month) So far nothing has worked to fix the problem.

It plays DVDs just fine

Sometimes it will play games with out a problem but I don't like working with a bi-polar console.

Any advice would be appreciated. I can try to add an attachment of the odd noise it makes if it is necessary to diagnose the problem.

Odd noise coming from controller.

I recently noticed that my XBox One S controller has been making an odd noise. It's a faint, somewhat high pitch noise. It seems to be coming from the area of the headset jack.

This noise is only present when my controller is directly hooked up to my XBox One S using my charge and play cord. When using only batteries, the noise is not present. Also, when I plug in a headset, the noise goes away. I have
also tried one of my older controllers, and it doesn't make a noise at all.

Other than this odd noise, the controller still works perfectly fine.

What could be causing this noise, and does this mean my controller may already be on it's way out? (Keep in mind I haven't been using this controller very long. Maybe about 2 months.)

The only thing I can think of is the reason you added a new hard drive. Turn off the console and take the hard drive out then turn the console back on and then put the hard drive back in. Make sure it's in firmly.

 

Thanks for replying. This console was having the same problems Before I added the new hard drive... I did as you said but now I can't connect to xbox live because it needs an update but refuses to believe I have a 320gb hard drive connected and it won't
allow me to do the update because I don't have enough storage. (I have 292gb of free space left..) I'm at a loss and ready to call it quits for Xbox if I keep having these problems This morning I added my 3 month membership and added $25 to my account...
I feel as if I wasted $50 since I can't access my account now.

 

I'm gonna give a couple of solutions to try. See if any of them work

1. Turn the console off and take the hard drive out and unplug it from the wall for 5 minutes, then plug it back in and put the hard drive back in and power back on. See if your able to access your profile. If it doesn't work redownload your profile again.

2 Clear console cache by going to settings, system, storage, highlight hdd, press y button, select clear cache and restart your console. Hopefully one of these 2 solutions will work for you.
