Xbox 360 S keeps crashing when trying to download Dishonored.

Hi all,

I was recently trying to download the Game with Gold which was Dishonored, but a few seconds after the download started my 360 would freeze and restart, then the cycle would repeat infinitely. I thought something weird was happening, so I took out my hard
drive and tried to download TWD (S2Ep1) onto the built in 4gb (This downloaded on both the 4gb and my 250gb hard drive). Since I didn't have the available space, the Dishonored download was auto canceled. When I put in my hard drive again, the 360 worked fine.
Cleared the cache, tried to re download, 360 crashed again. I tried using my friend's hardrive; cleared their cache, tried to download, 360 crashed again.

I'm a bit annoyed i can't get this game, so I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue, and if there is a solution.

I'm sorry to hear about the downloading issue you've been experiencing. I have a few questions to ask to see if we can narrow it down.

1. Dishonored needs approximately 4.31 GB of free space to download. Have you checked how much available space there is on your internal Xbox 360 hard drive? To do this:
   

• Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
  
• Select Storage.
• View how much space is free on the Hard Drive

1. Is the 250GB hard drive you're using an official Xbox 360 console hard drive?
   
2. Are you getting any error codes at all?

In the meantime, I would suggest trying out these troubleshooting steps (With your 250GB hard drive in your console):

• Clear your cache three times.
  
• Restart your Xbox 360 console.
• Try downloading Dishonored again.

My internal 360 Hard Drive has 1.5gb of space available. I believe that my 250GB hardrive is an official Xbox 360 console hard drive (Bought from Amazon, says Made in China, serial number 12210058706015), and I get no error codes, only a restart.

After clearing my cache 3 times(with the 250GB hadrdrive in the console) and attempting to restart my console, it refuses to get past the start up and continues to restart when the 360 turns on with the hard drive in it. It still operates fine when the
250GB hard drive is not in the console. Has the hard drive been corrupted?

Thanks for the quick, detailed reply! I'm truly sorry to hear the 250GB Hard Drive still isn't playing nice with your Xbox 360 console.

I would now suggest trying your Hard Drive in a different console to see if it works to rule out a faulty Hard Drive. If your Hard Drive happens to work in a different Xbox 360 console, I would recommend sending your console in for a repair as it would seem
like your console isn't detecting Hard Drives. To do this, navigate to our
