Xbox 360 S freezing

I own two Xbox 360 S machines. Starting sometime after September 15th, they both began freezing randomly. It happens on both machines whether I am logged into Xbox Live or not, and it doesn't appear to be connected to any specific application or game. It
will even freeze when I am on the main menu screens. I've tried pulling the hard drives from both machines and the freezing still occurs. When it freezes, the only thing that seems to respond still is the power button. Once I power cycle, the machines will
operate normally again for 5-10 minutes and then freeze again. Neither machine is overheating. This began happening on both machines at the same time. Does anyone know whether an update was pushed around this timeframe that might have caused this problem?

Does your XBOX360 freeze?

My console freezes at white Xbox 360 logo start up screen

I have a Xbox 360 S with 4gb flash memory, it was purchased in November 2011 and is freezing every time I power it up and does not go into the dashboard. I've followed steps on xbox.com/support but nothing has worked. What happened to my Xbox 360 S? I
thought this model was supposed to be better than the earlier Xbox 360 models...

I haven't seen any updates for a while.

Perhaps it's your profile that's causing the freeze. On one of the machines, try deleting your profile and see if that stops the freezing. If it does, then redownload your profile to that console and see if the freezing comes back.

It may have something to do with your profile trying to update and there's a corruption or something there.

the freezing of the machines could also be caused by the hard drives failing. Please try removing the drives from your console and see if it experiences the same issue. If it does not then you'll need to replace the drives.

This. I have mine freeze up on me once in a rare while, but it's not a cause for alarm.

I'm curious as to whether the people getting the freezes have one of the original Xbox 360's? I've only had 2 freezes and I've completed the main story and done a bit of the side stuff. I own the E console, so it's fairly new.

Yes, its stored on the 360’s 250gb hdd. Seems like a weird freeze that effected a handful of people.
