    I made the mistake of trying to hook my controller up to my laptop via the plug and play kit. I realized after I had downloaded the driver that it wouldn't work because the PaP kit only accesses the battery and not the controller itself. However, my controller
    will not sync back up to my console now. Is there a fix for this? Something the PaP driver may have changed in the controller?

    yeah they both connect to my 360 fine but for some reason won't sync to laptop

    Hey there, I've had a look for you, but I can't see anyone with this same issue. I would suggest maybe going through the troubleshooting article to see if you have any luck:

    support.xbox.com/.../xbox-controller-for-windows-help

    Though, I wouldn't think the drivers would change anything in the controller as the drivers would be stored on the PC.

    Have you tried connecting the controller with the play and charge kit. The kit automatically syncs the controller to the xbox.
    I'm having the same issue myself, and no, it won't.

    I forgot to add that now it can't connect at all. Charge and play kit turns the system on sometimes but doesn't sync the controller.. My Xbox won't find any controller and I will not buy another 1 when I tried with 6 different controllers with both rechargeable
    batteries and fresh AA batteries

    @onyx62is Yes, I've tried re-syncing the controller. Plus, I can't go to the settings because my controller won't connect. Also, I'm sure the update won't help, because from what I can tell, everybody's complaining about it.

    Having a similar issue myself. Recently got 20th anniversary controller. My son changed the batteries and it won't work now. It'll turn on the console but won't control anything.

    I synced it with my phone and it works. After that, I re-synced it with the console. It appears to sync, but no functionality. Won't show up as a connected device either.

    Update: I just got it to work. Multiple re-sync attempts and leaving the console unplugged for about ten min.
