    Need help fixing Xbox. Blinking red light for about 5 seconds then system shuts down. Center light and all four lights in circle. Help please

    I recently bought an Xbox 360 S genuine microsoft drvie from ebay but it wont work on my Xbox 360E console i get error code E 68 and no red blinking lights just a solid red light in center of power button. Any advice?

    Unfortunately I just found out the hard way and it crashed my original Premium X360 after playing it for 30 seconds.

    When I restarted my system I got three lights blinking bright red... :-(

    On my Slim 360 I have had no problemo.

    Are you referring to a blinking red light? That would indicate overheating or improper ventilation. See

    here    .

    Or are you receiving a solid red light or lights?

    Actually if it was overheating problem, after boot up xbox will prompt a overheating message, its not shows overheating warning message. So in your case and our gears 5 case its not overheating.

    Its really strange. But then i'm thinking why its shuts down in gears: tactics, NBA2K22 Had shutsdown and got patch and Xbx got a System OS update for shutsdown, COD had shutsdown and fixed too.

    Boot up time with external HDD takes about double the time than without. Is that normal?

    That`s strange. I am using a Buffalo HD-LX3.0TU3-EU Drivestation 3TB.

    When i am turning on my Xbox via Gamepad the white light on the controller begins to blink and search for a connection. Normally the white light stays on and Xbox is booting up within a minute or so.

    But when my external HDD is attached, the white light keeps on blinking for some time and goes out in the end. After my Xbox has finished with the boot up process, I have to turn on my Gamepad a second time in order to use it.
