Xbox 360 S console not detecting wireless network

    Hi,

I am having Xbox 360 S console. I bought this is USA and currently im using it in India. I was using this console since 2014 in India. I had no issues in connecting to wireless networks. But very recently the console is not detecting my wireless network
ssid at all. All my devices like Macbook, Iphone, android phones, windows laptops are detecting my network ssid and I have no issues in connecting to the internet. But my console alone not even detecting my wireless network. Around 2 months back my broadband
provider moved to fibernet mode and changed my wifi modem from ADSL to VDSL2 modem. Initially I had some problems with my Macbook also in connecting to that modem and after some configuration I was able to connect macbook without any issues. I suspected Xbox
also might not detect due to this modem change. So I got a Netgear Wifi router and installed it for using my wifi. Even after this Xbox is not detecting my wireless SSID. But I turned on hotspot in my iphone and it detected it.

So I am not able to come to a conclusion what would be problem here. I tried to manually configure using the unlisted network option and even that went unsuccessful.

Please help me with this issue. I am really missing my online gaming with my friends.

Xbox 360 S console not detecting wireless network

Hi, if you go to settings/ system settings/ network on the Xbox

Select your network in the list there, then select Configure network and then select Additional settings.

You'll see the Restore to factory defaults option, select that and then power the Xbox off and on again and try the connection again.

What often happens is when you've used the Xbox on another network it tends to keep the old settings and this should clear those out.

Can't connect to Wireless Network anymore

    Check your routers™s wireless settings

You might need to change your wireless router settings. Here are some things you should know:•Xbox 360 S console: The Xbox 360 S consoles™s built-in Wi-Fi uses the 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) frequency band. If your router is broadcasting using another frequency,
your Xbox 360 S console cannot connect to your wireless network. Check your router documentation to find out how to set your router to broadcast at 2.4 GHz. If you want to connect using the 5 GHz frequency band, you will need to add the black Xbox 360 Wireless
N Networking Adapter to your Xbox 360 S console.

•Xbox 360 S console and black adapter: The Xbox 360 S console and the black Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter cannot use the 802.11n wireless protocol in combination with WEP or WPA TKIP encryption. If your router requires WEP or WPA encryption, your
console will try to connect to your wireless network using a slower wireless protocol such as 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11a.

•Use WPA2 if possible: The best wireless encryption to use with your Xbox 360 console is WPA2 with AES encryption.

•Wireless N router and a gray adapter: If you have an 802.11n or N type router and a gray Xbox 360 Wireless G Networking Adapter, configure your N type router to use a mixed mode; broadcast using a combination of wireless standard N and either B, G, or A.

Hi Hali B, my name is Marvina and I will be happy to help you.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.
    Select Set up wireless network.

A detected wireless network is displayed in What is yours?

    Select Restart console.

    Troubleshoot a wireless network connection
If your console still cannot detect any wireless networks, continue with the troubleshooting steps below.

To determine if the problem may be with the wireless network, check if other wireless devices (computers, phones, televisions, or other game consoles) can detect your wireless network.

If no other device can detect your wireless network, the problem lies with your network hardware. Consultation:
    Troubleshoot a wireless network connection
