Xbox 360 S Console Freezes during startup

Recently, the console freezes during startup on the xbox logo screen. I have no hard drive so the troubleshooting does not appear to address my issue and since I can't get to the dashboard, I can't do much else. Any help would be appreciated as I am out
of warranty and want to know if this can be resolved or if replacement is necessary. Help!

It's still happening to you disaxion? Did you get the latest update that was supposed to supposedly fix it?

Just happened to me. I have to start a game up before I sign in and even then it's not guaranteed to run. Everything was working fine until I went to my dashboard.

Hello,

At this point since your warranty is over I would suggest you to take the console it back to the retailer and exchange it for a new one.

I am afraid I can not agree with DangerousBard here. If you are out of warranty you have owned the console for awhile, and I doubt any retailer would be willing to exchange it. Your choices here, in my opinion, would be to either buy a new console, or, set
up a repair. Personally, I would set up a repair on it as this is certainly the cheaper option. I will look into this a bit more to see if I can find a trouble shooter for this problem for an xbox without a HD.

@outsider Even though a console is out of MS warranty period a retailer is still responsible for your console by law. Your retailer is responsible for a period of up to six years. The law states that your item is only covered for what is considered to be
a reasonable period of time within that 6 years. These are your statutory rights by law, and are not affected by any kind of warranty offered by the retailer or manufacturer.

On the other hand the cost of an out-of-warranty repair varies $79 plus tax, if you submit a repair request online and $99 plus tax, if you contact Xbox Support and have a support agent create the repair order for you.

Finally a new xbox 360 console is around $ 200 for the moment so the retailer is the best way to approach this situation.

Yeah just finished playing halo 4 last night and today it just freezes on the start up screen of my dashboard, like it doesnt even get to f in dashboard. Serious bulls**t here. My hd is 320 gb this shouldnt happen, and nothing will help. Does any one think
it has to do with halo 4 saves or anything????
