Xbox 360 S boots up but has no lights.

Looks like a hardware issue, you should probally sent it to repair.

Try booting without the hard drive in. If you do not have a hard drive or if its still acting up, it may be about to display the red dot (general hardware failure) and will require a repair. To start one head over towww.xbox.com/support .

Before you send in the console for repair, try the following:

Press the small button next to the front USB flap. Do the lights around the power button "rotate"?

If so, press the small button between the LB/RB buttons near the Play&Charge connector. Does the Ring of Light on the controller now "rotate"?

That didn't work either do you have any other suggestions? I really don't want to send it in for repair.

That`s strange. I am using a Buffalo HD-LX3.0TU3-EU Drivestation 3TB.

When i am turning on my Xbox via Gamepad the white light on the controller begins to blink and search for a connection. Normally the white light stays on and Xbox is booting up within a minute or so.

But when my external HDD is attached, the white light keeps on blinking for some time and goes out in the end. After my Xbox has finished with the boot up process, I have to turn on my Gamepad a second time in order to use it.
