Xbox 360 Reverse Compatitbility

I read online in multiple websites including here on Xbox about reverse compatibility where i could play original Xbox games onto the Xbox 360. I purchased 2 games that were on the list of games that are currently compatible onto the Xbox 360 from the Original
Xbox and when i insert the games onto my 360, it would come back as a "Game Error" and said to go to Xbox Support. I made sure i have Xbox live connected and installed the current software needed, along with a microsoft hard drive and i can't figure out why
im not able to get the game working, if anyone knows if there is something else i need to do or if i cant play the games on it please let me know.

All invites I receive from friends to play just give the option to. "Launch"

I wish they were smart enough to reverse engineer the xbox one back to a 360

 

Reverse Engineering on Original Xbox Games

I know they are reverse engineering the Xbox 360 games but I have alot of original Xbox games especially with Morrowind (Game of the Year). I was wonder if they are gonna reverse engineer those games and tell us how to transfer the saved games to the Xbox
One. One more thing, why can't they make it so you can use your Xbox 360 controllers with the Xbox One??

Yeah, it gives me a message that says

" Game Error

The game couldn't start. Try Downloading the game again

I did see that link a few times and read through it carefully but still haven't gotten it working for some reason

 

Did the hard drive you have come with the console or was it purchased separately? If it was purchased separately, was it brand new or bought used from a third party like ebay?

 

It was bought separately and was new. I don't remember where i bought it though. Could the hard drive be the problem? Im using a Microsoft 250gb hard drive

 

If it was brand new in an official, unopened Microsoft packaging from a retailer, it shouldn't be the problem. Otherwise, they're usually knock off hard drives that only look official and actually aren't which causes backwards compatiblity to not work.
