Xbox 360 resets when starting games

When I go to start a game the screen looks like its about to boot up and then the power button will flash green repeatedly and then the xbox will reset into the screen where you choose your gamertag.

Is there any way to fix this so I can play a game on the xbox 360 again? I tried to clear the system cache but when I went to storage a loading screen came up and never came off and the power button blinked green in the same way if that would help.

Have you tried to start the game without the HDD? If the game boots without the HDD, try to delete your profile, and redownload it. Also, try to delete all game specific files on your HDD (So if it's Halo 4 that reboots your console, delete everything related
to Halo 4 on your HDD)

Hi there,

This sounds like it may be a power/over-heat issue. There are several things you could try to resolve this.

Make sure your Xbox is well ventilated.

Try using a different power outlet & preferably not be plugged in to an extension lead that has other equipment plugged in.

Make sure the Xbox is led horizontally & not vertically.

If the light on your power brick goes out or turns orange just before the system restarts itself, you might need to replace your power supply.

Try these things first, if the problem persists, please come back here & either post a reply or you can use Chat Support for immediate assistance

When the Xbox Original game starts, it disables the guide. That is why the Xbox 360 tells you it is unavailable. Every Xbox 360 console does this when an Original Xbox game is started.

The only way to do that would be to start a new account/profile.

Once an achievement is unlocked it can not be removed.

The only time this can happen is if the enforcement team reset your gamerscore for having modded achievements.Even then,only xbox 360 games are reset as xbox one games achievements can't be modded & when they are reset you can never unlock them again on
that account/profile.

What happens when you download it? When the download is finished, is there not a "start the game" button if you are on the download queue?
